Quick Take
Joshua Clottey (AP) Clottey takes title: Ghana's Joshua Clottey claimed the vacant IBF welterweight title Saturday by stopping American Zab Judah in the ninth round. It was the first major title for the 31-year-old Clottey and inflicted a fourth defeat from six results on the sliding Judah, formerly the unified world champion. Full Story

Arum's grudge nixes Margarito-Williams II: Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito (in no particular order) are the two best welterweights in the world. But we might not get to see them fight again in the ring with Bob Arum's animosity toward the Williams camp deep-sixing any chance for a rematch, Robert Morales says. Full Story

Hey HBO -- drop Lennox: Boxing broadcasts are simple -- one voice to describe the action, another to chime in with explanations and analysis. So why does HBO insist on three announcers, including the painful Lennox Lewis? Get rid of him, Michael Swann says. Full Story

Boxing's most admirable: He showed humility in victory while being upstaged by his opponent. A participant in the three best fights of the past three years -- and winner of two -- Israel Vazquez has distinguished himself in and out of the ring as an admirable combatant, Bart Barry says. Column

Darchinyan KOs Kirilov: Victor Darchinyan took the IBF junior bantamweight title from Dimitri Kirilov on Saturday night with a fifth-round knockout in a fight that Darchinyan dominated from start to finish. Full Story | Teron stops Lozada

Margarito stuns Cotto: Antonio Margarito stopped Miguel Cotto in the 11th round Saturday night, blemishing Cotto's unbeaten record and claiming the WBA 147-pound title with one last incredible barrage of punches. Margarito, the Mexican star so often ducked by the division's best fighters in recent years, dropped the Puerto Rican champion twice in the 11th round. Full Story | Barry: El Vindicado -- Margarito deserved his win over Cotto | Swann: What's next? | Morales: Is Oscar ducking Margarito?

Klitschko defends two titles: Wladimir Klitschko knocked out former sparring partner Tony Thompson in the 11th round to successfully defend his heavyweight titles Saturday. Klitschko turned boos to cheers, sending the American to the canvas with a right hand 1:38 into the 11th. Full Story

Oscar Diaz: Welterweight contender Oscar Diaz had surgery for bleeding on the brain and was in a coma after collapsing between rounds of a nationally televised bout. Norm Frauenheim says Diaz is a humble man who just wants to be a good father and provide for his family. Column

Marquez vs. Casamayor: With a third bout vs. Manny Pacquiao not happening, Juan Manuel Marquez steps up in weight to take on lightweight champ Joel Casamayor. Marquez will show no fear, but he might not be able to withstand Casamayor's power, Robert Morales says. Full Story

Straddling borders: What makes an athlete great? We all know Oscar De La Hoya is a great fighter, but can he enlighten us on how he got to be so? Bart Barry says the 'Golden Boy's' autobiography falls short in that regard, but not in much else. Column

Sikahema flattens Canseco: Former NFL Pro Bowl return man turned sportscaster Vai Sikahema destroyed former MLB All-Star Jose Canseco just 97 seconds into a scheduled three-round bout in Atlantic City on Saturday. Full Story

As I've said before, Cotto is the superior boxer of the two. HOwever there is no way he can take for twelve rounds. Let's here your thoughts! Time & time again we've heard several threads of how Cotto was going to knock Margo out. What happened?

Apparently its official.  Bernard Hopkins will fight Kelly Pavlik on October 18th in Atlantic City at a catch weight of 170.  After Arthur Abraham destroyed Miranda, I was kind of hoping to see Pavlik-Abraham.  Bernard Hopkins should be a great challenge for Kelly Pavlik and this should be a very interesting match-up.

There is alot of talk about Margarito fighting Oscar why Margarito will roll over Oscar if you want to see a great fight how about Margarito vs Berto he has great punching power and unbelieveable hand speed and great footwork he needs a little work on his counter punching but if they fight exspect Berto to win
