Padres pitcher Clay Hensley threw a bullpen session on Tuesday. He is currently on the 15-day DL with a shoulder injury.

Pirates pitcher Paul Maholm is scheduled to make his first start on Tuesday.

Padres pitcher Mark Prior threw batting practice on Tuesday. He is on the 60-day DL with a shoulder injury.

Astros second baseman Kaz Matsui took batting practice on Tuesday for the first time in two weeks.

Dodgers outfielder Andre Either is taking ground balls at first base.

Rays pitcher Scott Kazmir threw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

Royals outfielder David DeJesus did not play in Wednesday's game because of a sprained left ankle.

Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano is scheduled to make his start on Sunday against the Astros despite having forearm cramps.

The Phillies designated infielder Wes Helms for assignment.

The Phillies signed reliever Rudy Seanez.

Mariners closer J.J. Putz was placed on the 15-day DL with mild costochondritis on his right side.

The Mets placed pitcher Pedro Martinez on the 15-day DL with a strained left hamstring.

Cardinals outfielder Chirs Duncan did not start Wednesday because of a sore left hamstring.

Yankees catcher Jorge Posada was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with a stiff right shoulder.

Blue Jays pitcher Dustin McGowan is getting pushed back from Thursday's scheduled start with flu-like symptoms.

Braves second baseman Kelly Johnson expects to return in a few days.

Diamondbacks first baseman Conor Jackson left Wednesday's game with an undisclosed injury.

Dodgers pitcher Chad Billingsley and Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum were scratched from their starts against each other due to the risk of inclement weather.

Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista got a surprising save chance, and pitched a perfect ninth. He was scheduled to start later this week.

Free agent second baseman Marcus Giles, who was released by the Rockies earlier this week will most likely sign a minor-league deal with the Dodgers.

Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson is scheduled to pitch in a minor-league game on Thursday.

Reds shortstop Alex Gonzalez took batting practice on the field for the first time since having a stress fracture in his left knee.

Marlins outfielder Jeremy Hermida is scheduled to play in a minor-league game on Thursday.

According to the Chicago-Sun Times, White Sox outfielder Jerry Owens is expected to return from the disabled list on Tuesday.

Phillies pitcher Kris Benson began throwing long-toss in Florida.

Pirates catcher Ronny Paulino will make his first start on Thursday when the Pirates finally face a lefty.

Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera was scratched from Thursday's starting lineup with a sore left quadriceps.

Nationals middle infielder Felipe Lopez is made his first career start in the outfield today, playing in left field.

Angels pitcher Francisco Rodriguez said that he has been pitching with an ankle injury since late last season.

Nationals closer Chad Cordero played catch Thursday, but he is still considered day-to-day.

Nationals first baseman Dmitri Young did not start even though Nick Johnson did not start because Young has been bothered by back tightness.
